The Breakers, a tribute band devoted to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, will perform at the JPT Film & Event Center in Newport on Friday, Oct. 9, at 8 p.m.
The show, presented by Spectacle Live, will be held at the historic Washington Square venue, formerly the Jane Pickens Theater. Tickets go on sale Friday, May 1, at 10 a.m. at janepickens.com or by phone at 1-800-657-8774.
The Breakers bill themselves as the country’s premier Tom Petty tribute act, focused on replicating the sound of Petty’s songs rather than relying on visual mimicry. Petty, the frontman of the Heartbreakers, died in 2017.
Spectacle Live, founded in 2012 and based in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, books and produces events at more than a dozen venues across New England.
