One of Jamestown’s most beloved springtime traditions returns next month, as the Quononoquott Garden Club hosts its annual Plant Sale on Saturday, May 9.
The sale will run from 9 a.m. to noon at the Fort Getty Pavilion on Fort Getty Road and will be held rain or shine, according to the club.
Shoppers can expect a vibrant selection of plants, including hardy perennials, herbs and a range of native varieties suited to local growing conditions. Experienced club members will be on hand to offer tips and advice, whether visitors are refreshing established beds, adding pollinator-friendly plants or simply looking for inspiration.
Proceeds from the sale support the club’s civic beautification work across the island. Members tend gardens at both town welcome signs, the Four Corners pollinator garden, Town Hall planters, the Fire House Museum garden and the Memorial Square planters at East Ferry. The club is also behind the sweeping displays of daffodils along Route 138 each spring.
More information about the Quononoquott Garden Club is available on the group’s Facebook page, QGC-Quononoquott Garden Club.
