Addaline Messenger saved her best for last.

The senior midfielder scored three goals Monday evening, capping the performance with the game-winner in the final minutes to lift Tiverton past Rogers 8-7 in a girls lacrosse game played at Tiverton High School.

The contest was decided within one or two goals the entire game, with neither team able to pull away for good until Messenger’s decisive strike put the Tigers ahead to stay.

Avery Craig and Delinda Carvalho each added two goals for Tiverton, providing the offensive depth the Tigers needed to hold off a determined Rogers squad.

Rogers kept pace behind a balanced attack of their own. Abby Leys and Jez DeOliveira each netted two goals for the Vikings, while Zoe Forgue, Leah McEvoy and Cailin Bagley each added one. Rogers was coached by Rob McEvoy.

Tiverton was assessed three yellow cards during the contest — two for head infractions and one for a neck infraction — but none proved costly as the Tigers secured the home victory.
