Brandi Carlile is heading back to Fort Adams.

The multi-Grammy-winning singer-songwriter is among the latest acts announced for the 2026 Newport Folk Festival, where she will perform songs from her critically acclaimed eighth studio album, “Returning to Myself.” Carlile is set to appear on Sunday, July 26.

“We are beyond excited to announce that Brandi Carlile will be returning to Newport Folk this summer to perform songs from her new album ‘Returning to Myself,'” organizers said in a social media post last Thursday.

Carlile, long one of Newport Folk’s most prominent figures, has been a fixture at the festival in recent years. “Returning to Myself,” released in October, was produced by Carlile, Andrew Watt, Aaron Dessner, and Justin Vernon. The album debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200, becoming her fifth top-ten record.

Also added to Sunday’s bill is Irish singer-songwriter CMAT, born Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson, who is riding the momentum of a breakout 2025. Her third album, “Euro-Country,” was nominated for the Mercury Prize and debuted at No. 1 on the Irish Albums Chart and No. 2 in the UK. She is also set to make her Coachella debut in April and will support Florence + The Machine on tour this year.

This Is Lorelei, the project of Nate Amos of Water From Your Eyes, rounds out the latest announcements and is slated for Saturday, July 25. The band’s 2024 album “Box for Buddy, Box for Star” was released on Double Double Whammy and became a favorite among indie rock peers — MJ Lenderman called This Is Lorelei his “favorite band right now,” and Waxahatchee covered the band’s single “Where’s Your Love Now” at a Newport Folk aftershow last summer.

The three new acts join a growing roster that now includes Ms. Lauryn Hill and Hayley Williams & Friends on Friday, July 24; Lizzy McAlpine and Gillian Welch & David Rawlings’ Grateful Dead Acoustic Reckoning on Saturday; and Hudson Freeman and Brittany Davis & Black Thunder rounding out the weekend, as previously reported by What’sUpNewp. Organizers have been rolling out approximately one announcement per weekday since early February.

Tickets for the 67th annual festival, scheduled for July 24-26, sold out within seconds of going on sale Feb. 4. Additional artists are expected in the coming weeks at newportfolk.org.
