A 32-foot powerboat named Sara Paige captured first place in the 26th annual Newport Illuminated Boat Parade on Saturday evening.

More than 30 decorated vessels of various sizes participated in the holiday tradition, which was rescheduled from Nov. 28 due to inclement weather.

Solid State, a 34-foot powerboat, took second place in the Best in Show category, while Shanti III, a 25-foot sailboat, finished third.

The Patience, a 26-foot powerboat, received the Tim Mills Team Spirit Award, which honors the former harbormaster and recognizes the boat that best embodies community spirit and camaraderie.

The parade, founded by former Harbormaster Jake Farrell, was hosted by Newport Yacht Club.

Martha Parker from Team One/Patagonia served as master of ceremonies. Sara Mariani organized this year’s parade.

Organizers thanked the Newport Yacht Club, the Newport Harbormaster, the city of Newport, Belles at the Shipyard, Stoneacre Brasserie, Bowen’s Wharf Association and Discover Newport for their support.
