The first weekend of December is shaping up to be one of the busiest that we’ve seen in a while, and if you’ve been waiting for the right moment to get back out there, this is it. After a slower stretch in November, buyers have come back with real momentum, and sellers are feeling that energy. Inventory hasn’t spiked, but activity has…creating a window of opportunity for anyone looking to make a move before year-end or year-beginning. 

What stands out most this weekend is the depth of options in Portsmouth and Tiverton. These two markets in particular are offering a strong mix of price points, property styles, and neighborhoods. Whether you’re looking for a turnkey single-family home, an investment opportunity, a condo alternative, or something with acreage and privacy, there is a lot to choose from.

It’s a rare weekend where buyers can compare multiple properties back-to-back in the same town, which makes deciphering value much easier. If you’ve been circling Portsmouth for its school system, proximity to Newport and Bristol, or its community and lifestyle amenities, this is a great moment to get out and tour. Tiverton has quietly been one of the most consistently performing markets in Newport County, offering strong value and a quality of life that appeals to everyone from first-time buyers to downsizers to second-home seekers. With so many open houses clustered between late morning and early afternoon, you can easily build a tour route and see several homes in one trip. This is a market (along with Bristol and Warren) that I expect to see bloom in 2026. 

Across the county, the story is the same: homes are moving. Buyers are still active, sellers are more motivated, and the market has found a steady rhythm as we head toward the end of the year. I have 6 closings between now and the end of the year, so while the seasonality of New England is inevitable, there are still people transacting. If you’re thinking about entering the market on either side, now is a smart time to start the conversation.
