(O'Brien's Pub)

O’Brien’s Pub will host a fundraiser to support victims of Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica on Wednesday, Dec. 10, from 4 to 7 p.m.

The event aims to raise money for families and communities impacted by the hurricane, including relatives of O’Brien’s staff members.

“The core of our staff at O’Brien’s is from Jamaica, and many of their family members and community were severely impacted by the hurricane,” said Diana Lavery-Regan, marketing manager for O’Brien’s Pub. “It’s incredibly important to us to support those and their families who contribute so much to O’Brien’s and are a part of our Newport community.”

Tickets are $25 and can be purchased in advance by visiting O’Brien’s Pub or calling 401-849-6623, or at the door the day of the event. The pub accepts cash or checks made payable to Aquidneck Gives.

The fundraiser will feature a silent auction and raffle, with a DJ closing out the evening.

Proceeds will directly support relief efforts in Jamaica, according to O’Brien’s Pub.
