Mother Pizzeria is bringing fresh flavors to Newport with a new guest chef series featuring culinary talent from around the region.
The series kicks off Wednesday, Oct. 29, from 5 to 9 p.m. with Chef Will Gilson of Puritan & Company in Boston, who will showcase his acclaimed South Shore Bar Pizza.
Gilson, known for his New England cooking and restaurants including Amba, The Lexington, and Gilson’s Herb Lyceum, will join Mother Pizzeria Chef Kyle in the kitchen to create the “burnt edge” pan pies that have become a Boston area favorite.
“Considered one of Boston’s best-kept secrets, these cult-favorite pizzas are crispy, cheesy, and served in unassuming taverns across the South Shore of Boston,” according to the restaurant.
Mother will serve Gilson’s bar pies throughout the evening alongside its regular menu, plus South Shore-inspired cocktails to complement the special offerings.
The guest chef series will continue with additional events planned for December and February, with more details to be announced.
