The Jamestown Arts Center will present a collection of rarely shown short films by director David Lynch on Wednesday, Oct. 29, offering audiences a chance to experience the filmmaker’s early experimental work on the big screen.
Doors open at 6 p.m., with screenings beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 for general admission. The event is open to audiences 18 and older.
The program will feature several of Lynch’s short films spanning from 1967 to 2002, including “Six Men Getting Sick” (1967), “The Alphabet” (1968), “The Grandmother” (1970) and “DumbLand” (2002). The works showcase the evolution of Lynch’s surrealist vision and the foundations of his distinctive filmmaking style.
In keeping with the Halloween season, the arts center is encouraging attendees to wear costumes. Prizes will be awarded for the most inspired Lynch-themed looks at the end of the night.
The Jamestown Arts Center describes itself as a leading arts and cultural hub for Rhode Island. For more information, visit jamestownartcenter.org.
