Troubadours (via Spectacle Live)

Two tribute bands will celebrate the music of Carole King and James Taylor in a concert Nov. 16 at The JPT Film & Event Center in Newport.

Spectacle Live will present “Troubadours – The Music of Carole King & James Taylor” at 7 p.m. at the Washington Square venue. Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at JanePickens.com or by calling 800-657-8774.

The show features Home Again, a tribute to Carole King’s music, and Steamroller, which performs James Taylor songs.

Home Again includes professional musicians who have worked together for more than 30 years and features Deb De Lucca as King on piano and lead vocals, according to a news release.

Sam Hyman leads Steamroller and is described as having an “uncanny resemblance” to Taylor with vocal and guitar styles that mirror the singer-songwriter.

The Troubadours performance is part of a busy fall schedule at JPT. Other upcoming shows include The Hot Sardines on Aug. 21, Wise Guys of Comedy on Aug. 22, ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro on Aug. 27, and singer-songwriter Lori McKenna on Sept. 11.

October performances feature alternative rock band Vertical Horizon on Oct. 8 and fingerpicking guitarist Leo Kottke on Oct. 15. November shows include comedian Juston McKinney on Nov. 14 and British folk-rock musician Richard Thompson on Nov. 15.

The schedule concludes with holiday performances by Irish traditional music group Lunasa on Dec. 4 and Celtic violinist Eileen Ivers presenting “Joyful Christmas” on Dec. 13.
