RENEWport will host its third World Café event of the year on Tuesday, Aug. 19, from 6-8:30 p.m. at Emmanuel Church in Newport.
The free, public event will use a structured discussion format to explore questions about community, belonging and strengthening civic life in Newport. Participants will rotate through small-group conversations designed to encourage meaningful dialogue.
“We believe everyone has valuable ideas and insights to share, and together, we can tackle even the toughest challenges,” said Sue Sipprelle, co-president and founder of RENEWport. “Our conversations will focus on building a stronger sense of community and belonging in Newport.”
The event continues a series RENEWport launched earlier this year. In April, the organization hosted a World Café in advance of a keynote address by Dr. Robert Putnam on American democracy. A June event brought together an intergenerational group to discuss belonging in Newport and community connections.
Emmanuel Church is located at 42 Dearborn St. Light refreshments will be served and free parking is available. RSVPs are encouraged at renewport.org/event/world-cafe/.
