LC350 PARADE & CELEBRATION (via LC350)

LITTLE COMPTON — Little Compton will celebrate its 350th anniversary Saturday with a parade and day-long festivities that organizers say are “worth the 50 year wait.”

The LC350 Parade will begin at 11 a.m. from the intersection of West Main Road and Peckham Road, continuing along Meetinghouse Lane and The Commons before finishing at Richmond’s Field at 85 South of Commons Road.

Parade participants must line up at 9:30 a.m. along Peckham Road, according to the LC350 organizing committee.

The celebration will continue throughout the day with food trucks and live music under a tent at Richmond’s Field. The Sharing Room will perform at 4 p.m., followed by Mr. Chubb at 6 p.m. Mr. Chubb is described as New England’s premier club and party band, playing funk, jazz, country and R&B.

The Little Compton Police Department announced several road closures will be in effect to accommodate the parade. Closures begin as early as 9:30 a.m. and some will last until 12:15 p.m.

Peckham Road between West Main Road and Willow Avenue will be closed from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. West Main Road from Peckham Road to Meetinghouse Lane will be closed from 11 a.m. to noon.

Additional closures include Meetinghouse Lane from West Main Road to The Commons from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., and the intersection of Commons and South of Commons Road from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Police Chief Scott N. Raynes warned that all closure times are subject to change and could be longer than anticipated due to unforeseen circumstances.
