BankNewport named Jessica L. Couto vice president and branch manager of its Portsmouth location Wednesday.
Couto will manage operations, customer experience and team development at the branch at 2628 East Main Road, the bank said.
The Portsmouth resident joined BankNewport in 2015 and most recently managed the Warwick branch. She previously held sales manager positions at branches in Tiverton and Middletown.
Couto serves on the Portsmouth Business Association board and is a member of MentorRI and the SouthCoast Chamber of Commerce.
Founded in 1819, BankNewport operates 19 branches statewide and is headquartered in Newport. The mutual organization has distributed more than $7.7 million in community grants over five years through its All In Giving program.
