Newport International Polo Announces Beneficiaries for Charity Gala (via Newport Polo)

Newport Polo’s 24th annual charity gala, “Singapore Swing,” is set for Aug. 1, 2025, at Rosecliff Mansion in Newport.

This black-tie event will support four local environmental organizations: Eastern Rhode Island Conservation District, Roger Williams Park Zoo, Save The Bay, and Newport Tree Conservancy.

These charity galas have raised nearly $2.2 million for nonprofit initiatives over the past two decades. This year, the focus is on preserving Newport’s coastal beauty and marine ecosystems.

“We’re honored to be the beneficiary of this year’s Newport Polo Gala,” said Nancy Parker Wilson, Chair of the Eastern Rhode Island Conservation District and owner of Greenvale Vineyards. “As a farmer, I know how vital healthy soil and clean water are—not just for agriculture, but for our whole community. We’re thrilled to be part of this exciting event alongside the international team from Singapore—it’s a fun and elegant way to celebrate global connection and environmental stewardship for a more sustainable future”.

The Singapore Polo Team will be guests of honor at the gala. The event promises an elegant evening with support from sponsors including Vanderbilt International Properties and Palm Beach Motor Yachts.

“We are excited to partner with the Newport Polo for their annual ball and help spread the word about our mission to protect and improve Narragansett Bay and its watershed,” said Topher Hamblett, Save The Bay‘s Executive Director. “It’s an honor to be listed among the many nonprofit recipients doing great work on and around Aquidneck Island.”

BD, a medical technology company with a long-standing presence in Rhode Island, is the presenting sponsor. Their Surgery Business Unit in Warwick employs nearly 300 people and distributes over $1 billion in medical devices globally.

The gala will feature live and silent auctions, with online bidding available for those unable to attend. All proceeds will be directly supported by the named beneficiaries.

While gala tickets are sold out, Newport Polo plans to announce associated events soon. The weekend celebration will include a preparty, an afterparty, a polo match, and the annual Lobsterfest.

Newport Polo, established in 1876, holds the distinction of being America’s first polo club and has hosted teams from 37 countries in its International Polo Series.
