The Newport Police Department is investigating a shoplifting incident from May 26 and is asking the public for help identifying the suspects.

On Wednesday, the department posted images on Facebook showing two individuals and a motorcycle they believe are linked to the theft.

Detective Jack Billings, who’s leading the investigation, is calling on anyone who can identify the people or the motorcycle in the pictures to step forward.

“If you recognize either of these individuals or the motorcycle, please get in touch with Detective Jack Billings,” the department’s social media post says.

The police haven’t shared specifics about what was stolen or which store was targeted.

If you have any information that could help, you can reach Detective Billings at 401-845-5751 or by email at jbillings@cityofnewport.com.
