Easton's Beach

Newport is launching a series of public workshops to plan the future of Easton’s Beach, aiming to balance environmental concerns with its recreational and cultural importance.

Starting June 4, the month-long process will bring together locals, stakeholders, and experts to create a vision for a sustainable and vibrant beach.

City officials say the workshops aim to “co-create a sustainable and vibrant future for Easton’s Beach,” balancing “critical infrastructure needs with the recreational, environmental, and cultural value the Beach holds.”

The series includes interactive beach walks, community brainstorming sessions, and design open houses. These events will gather public input on potential improvements and necessary investments to address environmental risks.

The first session is set for June 4 from 5-7 p.m. at City Hall. It will provide a project overview and share results from a January workshop.

Other events include a beach walk on June 16, design open houses on June 17 and 18, and a virtual presentation on June 30.
