Little Clam, a “New England coastal restaurant”, is opening at Wayfinder Newport this summer.

According to its website, Little Clam will bring “a fresh take on New England coastal dining, celebrating local farmers, fishermen, and timeless seaside flavors”.

You’ll find the restaurant inside the Wayfinder Newport hotel at 151 Admiral Kalbfus Road.

Chef Antonio Wormley is taking the lead in the kitchen. He’s a Johnson & Wales University grad with over 12 years of cooking experience. Wormley’s love for cooking started in his grandmother’s kitchen and has taken him across the country since then.

“Simplicity is the sign of perfection,” Wormley says. He’s all about cooking with local, seasonal, and sustainable ingredients.

Little Clam is taking over the space previously occupied by Nomi Park, which closed in 2022 when a fire forced the hotel to shut down for more than a year.

The restaurant’s name is a nod to the humble clam, a New England coastal cuisine staple and a symbol of the region’s deep connection to the sea.

Wayfinder Newport’s website says Little Clam will offer “an immersive culinary experience” and is set to become “a new neighborhood favorite.”

An opening date has not been announced.
