The 2025 Grenon’s Newport Night Run, a 5K race supporting local education, went ahead Saturday night despite rainy weather.

Adrian Massie took first place overall, clocking in at 17:04. Nathaniel Tokarsky (17:58) and Fred Barber (18:22) secured second and third in the men’s category.

For the women, Lil Harding led the pack with a time of 19:59. Genevieve Primeau (20:33) and Margaret McCaffrey (21:54) followed in second and third.

The yearly nighttime event kicked off and wrapped up at Rogers High School.

The race supports the independent nonprofit Newport Public Education Foundation (NPEF).
