A Portsmouth fire crew helped deliver a healthy baby boy during an emergency call in the early hours of Friday morning.
At 2:05 a.m., Rescue 1 and Engine 1 responded to a call about a woman in active labor. When they arrived, they found the mom-to-be ready to give birth.
Within just eight minutes of getting there, the firefighters successfully assisted with the delivery of the newborn.
The mother and baby were then taken to the hospital, where they’re both doing well.
The Portsmouth Fire Department shared their excitement on Facebook, congratulating the new parents and expressing how honored they were to be part of such a special moment.
At approximately 0205 hours, Rescue 1 and Engine 1 were dispatched to assist a woman in labor. Upon arrival, crews found the woman in active labor. Within eight minutes of arriving on scene, crews successfully assisted in delivering a healthy baby boy.
Both mother and baby were transported to the hospital and are reported to be doing well.
