Pivotal Brewing Company is opening at 140 Broadway (via Pivotal Brewing Company on Facebook)

Pivotal Brewing Company is expanding to Newport with a soft launch this Easter weekend. The new taproom, located at 140 Broadway in the former Salvation Cafe space, opens its main bar area starting Friday at 5 p.m.

The brewery shared the news on Facebook, inviting customers to “come grab a beer with us” during the preview. For the holiday weekend, the Newport location will have limited hours: Friday 5-10 p.m., Saturday 12-10 p.m., and Easter Sunday 12-7 p.m.

Pivotal plans to open the rest of the indoor space next week, with the patio set to welcome guests in early May. Newport Chowder Company will handle kitchen operations for the opening weekend.

Meanwhile, Pivotal’s original Bristol location keeps its regular hours: Friday 2-10 p.m., Saturday 12-10 p.m., and Easter Sunday 12-6 p.m.

The brewery is also hosting an Earth Day market at its Bristol taproom on Saturday from 12-5 p.m., featuring eco-friendly products from Juicy Market PVD.
