Newport Public Schools is hosting School Report Card Nights in March to give parents a clearer picture of recent accountability reports for local schools.
The district shared the upcoming events on Facebook Thursday, urging parents to join these key meetings. They’ll cover the Rhode Island Department of Education report cards and how schools are working to improve.
The sessions will focus on report cards for Claiborne Pell Elementary School, Frank E. Thompson Middle School, and Rogers High School, as well as the district as a whole.
“We encourage you to attend these meetings to get a better grasp of the accountability report cards and learn about each school’s efforts to boost student achievement,” the district said in its social media post.
Here’s when and where the School Report Card Nights are happening:
- Thompson Middle School: March 17 at 5:30 p.m.
- Rogers High School: March 25 at 5:30 p.m.
- Pell Elementary School: March 27 at 5:30 p.m.
These meetings aim to give parents a clear view of how the state assesses local schools and what the district is doing to improve education.
The district stressed the importance of these sessions, telling parents to “mark your calendars now!”
