The Newport Folk Festival is starting to reveal its 2025 lineup, with Jeff Tweedy, Mt. Joy, and Waxahatchee among the first performers announced.

On February 6, organizers shared that Tweedy will perform on the festival’s Sunday lineup. This announcement came just a day after general admission tickets sold out within minutes of going on sale.

“We’re thrilled to have Jeff Tweedy back at the Fort this summer as part of our Sunday lineup,” the festival announced on social media.

Four days later, on February 10, organizers added Mt. Joy to the Sunday, July 27 schedule.

On Tuesday, February 11, organizers announced that Waxahatchee would perform on Saturday, July 26.

Set for July 25-27, 2025, at Fort Adams State Park, the festival will continue to announce more performers in the coming weeks.

The Newport Festivals Foundation is making grants to music education programs on behalf of the announced artists. They’ve already supported The People’s Music School, a Chicago-based organization offering free music education to children in the area.

“Each Friday, we’ll be making grants on behalf of the artists we’ve added to our lineup,” the festival shared on social media.

General admission tickets for the festival sold out on February 5, even before any performers were announced.
