BermudAir on Friday announced it will be launching new nonstop service between Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport (PVD) and Bermuda’s L.F. Wade International Airport (BDA). The new service, which will operate year-round on Thursdays and Sundays, will begin on May 22, 2025.

This announcement marks the latest expansion for PVD, which recently surpassed 4 million passengers in 2024 and was named New England’s fastest-growing hub airport. The addition of Bermuda aligns with the airport’s broader strategy to bolster international travel options, as Breeze CEO David Neeleman announced in 2024. PVD’s newest international destination is Bermuda, announced in 2024 by Breeze CEO David Neeleman, who expects Federal Aviation Administration approvals to begin international routes to be granted by the end of March.

“We’re excited to welcome BermudAir to Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport,” said Iftikhar Ahmad, President and CEO of the Rhode Island Airport Corporation. “These new and exciting nonstop connections are all part of our commitment to connecting Rhode Island’s business and leisure travelers with premier destinations across the globe.”

BermudAir, the flag carrier of Bermuda, will fly the new routes on Embraer 175 twin-engine jets, featuring 70 seats in a two-by-two configuration with no middle seats. Complimentary Bermuda-sourced beverages and snacks will be offered onboard. The airline will also be adding two larger Embraer 190 aircraft to its fleet soon, seating 96 passengers.

“Bermuda and New England have always shared a special connection, and we’re thrilled to make travel between the two even more convenient,” said Adam Scott, Founder & CEO at BermudAir. “With this new nonstop route, Rhode Islanders can swap the mainland for an island escape in just a few short hours, enjoying the relaxation, adventure, and rich culture Bermuda has to offer–all with the comfort and reliability of BermudAir.”

The new route is expected to further strengthen the leisure and business connection between Rhode Island and Bermuda, which already share ties through the Newport Bermuda Sailing Race, URI’s Marine Biology Semester in Bermuda Program, and the Rhode Island Football Club’s pre-season exhibition tournament held in Bermuda each year.

Adding to the ease of travel, U.S. Customs Preclearance will be available for passengers returning to Rhode Island on BermudAir. This means passengers will complete U.S. Customs and Immigration inspection in Bermuda before boarding their flight back to PVD, saving time upon arrival.
