The Mooring will celebrate the 37th Annual Newport Winter Festival with a four-course beer dinner featuring Tilted Barn Brewery, on Tuesday, February 18.
The evening will kick off with a reception featuring a choice of Tilted Barn’s The Chosen One Double IPA or a Mimosa, along with select stationary hors d’oeuvres including Crab Rangoon with red crab; Tater tots with American caviar; and Nashville Hot Chicken with dill pickles; as well as an assortment of bar snacks such as Crimson Kettle Corn with Belgian rock sugar; Lime Peanuts with makrut lime leaf; and House Giardiniera.
Dinner will begin with a Stuffed Duck Wing featuring confit duck, scallop mousse, and lobster claw, paired with Tilted Barn’s light and crisp Lawn Boy Barn Lager.
A Bavarian Pretzel will follow, served with Littlefield beer cheese, grainy mustard, hopped sea salt and complemented by bright, citrusy Tilted Barn Littlefield IPA.
A chef’s interlude will feature Kumamoto Oysters served with bleeding heart granita and finger lime. This dish will be paired with a Gose-style kettle sour, the second release in Tilted Barn’s 2022 Flower Series, Bleeding Heart’s Fruited Kettle Sour, brewed with coriander and local sea salt from Newport Sea Salt with additions of cranberries and plums.
The evening’s third course will feature a Lobster & Chourico Crunch Wrap with potato gaufrettes and black garlic ketchup, complemented by Tilted Barn’s complex and earthy Evolve Mixed Fermentation Ale.The evening concludes on a sweet note with an Ice Cream Float featuring cold fusion gelato, toffee, rock sugar, and peanut butter whipped cream, paired with Tilted Barn’s Boreal Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout, offering warm notes of vanilla, toffee, chocolate, and fig and very soft carbonation for an incredibly smooth and decadent finish.
