The Portsmouth Fire Department is auctioning off a 1989 Maxim Pumper fire truck on municibid.com. Anyone can join the online auction, which wraps up on Jan. 27. Rhode Island residents have round-the-clock access to place their bids.

This vintage truck has clocked 80,883 miles and comes with a Detroit diesel engine, automatic transmission, and a powerful 1500 GPM pump. It got a makeover in 2005 and is said to run and brake just fine. The vehicle also boasts a Westerbeke diesel generator, which powers hydraulic rescue tools like cutters and spreaders.

All the money raised from this auction will go straight to the Portsmouth Fire Department. They plan to use it for much-needed gear such as water hoses and helmets, and maybe even new vehicles down the line.

As it stands, the highest bid is $2,500, but that hasn’t hit the reserve price yet. To keep things fair, the auction might get a two-minute extension to prevent last-second bidding.

If you’re interested in throwing your hat in the ring, you can set up a free account on Municibid to join the auction.
