The Newport Police Department on Thursday, January 16 gave 9-year-old Sammy Alejandro a day he’ll never forget, making him an honorary police officer in front of his classmates.
On January 16, 2025, the department shared the heartwarming story on Facebook. They wrote, “We had the pleasure of welcoming Sammy Alejandro as our ‘honorary’ Newport Police Officer for the day!”
Sammy has been a big fan of the police department for as long as anyone can remember. He’s always been there to cheer them on and has shown a genuine interest in their work.
To make the day extra special, Sammy received an official certificate, officially making him part of the Newport Police family.
The department explained, “We wanted to do something really special for Sammy to show how much we appreciate his support and enthusiasm.”
The officers were clearly touched by Sammy’s impact on their community. They praised his bravery, positive attitude, and love for his neighbors.
