The Puddingstone music series kicks off its 2025 season with a unique concert at the Newport Art Museum on February 2. “Piano à Deux: Love Songs from Around the World” starts at 2:30 p.m. and promises an eclectic mix of classical and jazz pieces.

The Psychopomp Ensemble, led by pianists Chi-Wei Lo and Xiaopei Xu, takes center stage for this performance. Their program spans centuries and continents, featuring works by Mendelssohn, Smetana, Hindemith, and Bach. They’ll also put their spin on pieces by jazz legends Duke Ellington and Thelonious Monk, as well as contemporary artists Ran Blake and Laufey.

Both pianists bring impressive credentials to the stage. Xu made her Boston Symphony Hall debut with The Boston Pops in 2018, while Lo has performed with the Atlantic Symphony Orchestra and the North American Medical Orchestra.
