Newport City Hall

Newport’s city council is gearing up for its yearly sit-down with state legislators on January 11 at 9 a.m.

This meeting gives council members a chance to talk about potential state laws that could help Newport in the upcoming General Assembly session.

The public is welcome to attend, and Newport’s representatives will also share what they’re focusing on for the new year.

Can’t make it in person? No problem. The City of Newport streams the meeting live on their website at www.CityofNewport.com/TV.

The city’s Facebook page reminds everyone, “The meeting is open to the public and we welcome anyone who wants to attend.”
