The Greater Newport Chamber of Commerce is on the hunt for two key roles to boost its economic development efforts and spark innovation in the area.
They’re looking to fill positions for an Innovate Newport Community Manager and an Emerging Business Navigator, as announced on January 17.
The Community Manager will run the day-to-day operations at Innovate Newport, a coworking and innovation hub. They’ll be in charge of keeping tenants and members happy while helping to build a thriving business community in the region.
As for the Emerging Business Navigator, they’ll be backing the chamber’s Regional Economic Development Division and Connect Greater Newport stakeholders. This role involves juggling business retention, expansion, and attraction efforts, along with running technical assistance programs for diverse business leaders.
The chamber says these roles will be crucial in creating a lively and collaborative community in the Greater Newport area.
Both positions are aimed at strengthening the chamber’s mission to connect, innovate, enhance, and advocate for local businesses. The organization represents nearly 1,000 members and about 50,000 employees in the Greater Newport region.
Innovate Newport, backed by the chamber and the City of Newport, acts as a launchpad for business growth. It offers flexible coworking spaces, private offices, and resources for entrepreneurs and innovators.
Connect Greater Newport, the chamber’s economic development arm, leads a public-private partnership focused on supporting existing businesses and attracting new ones to the area.
If you’re interested in applying, you can find more details and submit your application through the chamber’s online Job Bank at www.newportchamber.com.
