Aquidneck Island Wrestling had a mixed night at Gaudet Middle School on Wednesday, January 8. The team, which brings together wrestlers from Middletown, Rogers, and Portsmouth high schools, lost their first match against Lincoln 45-33 but rallied to edge out East Greenwich 38-37 in the second contest.

Despite the initial setback, the Aquidneck Island squad showed resilience in their comeback victory. The event, part of Rhode Island’s high school winter sports season, drew spectators to the Newport venue to watch the competitive matches unfold.

Justin Walker, a What’sUpNewp photographer, was there to document the action. His photo gallery offers a vivid look at the night’s wrestling bouts, capturing the intensity and skill on display.
