Little Compton/Tiverton Pavement Improvements. Credit: RIDOT

Get ready for some lane closures in Little Compton and Tiverton next week. The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) is kicking off pavement improvements and drainage work from December 8-14, 2024.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Little Compton: Expect alternating lane closures on South of Commons Road (from Commons Road to Brownell Road) and on East Main Road and Simmons Road (from Willow Avenue to Peckham Road).
  • Tiverton: Fish Road (from Bulgarmarsh Road to Beth Road) and Souza Road (from Fish Road to Main Road) will see similar closures.

Work hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. RIDOT crews will be busy installing loam and fixing up drainage swales along these routes.

If you’re driving through these areas, plan for some extra travel time or consider taking a different route during work hours. Stay safe out there!

Across Newport County, RIDOT has the following work scheduled from December 7 – 13.

Newport County

Newport Pell Bridge Approaches – Phase II

Newport: Mobile operations sitewide will occur with minimal impact to travel to wrap up outstanding electrical and signage installation tasks.
