It is with great sadness and sorrow that we share the passing of Joyce Lynne Allphin on December 10, 2024 in Jamestown, RI. She passed peacefully surrounded by her husband and family. Joyce was born January 2, 1940 the second oldest of twelve siblings in McKeesport, PA to Samuel and Patricia Kusic (Blaine). Joyce will be remembered by her infectious laughter, unwavering generosity and kindness, and her endless wealth of knowledge through her reading.

Joyce began her career in Pittsburgh, PA as a teacher then relocated to New York to accept a position at IBM where she met Richard, her beloved husband of fifty years. Joyce was the proud owner of the Lionel Champlin House – a successful B&B in Jamestown and was involved in many local organizations. She loved to lend her support to the many beautification projects in town and provided research and edits for the various publications about Jamestown.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Patricia Kusic, sister Joanne Reddington, brothers Samuel and Gregor Kusic, Richard (Dickie) Allphin and Sarah E. (Sally) Allphin.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her sisters Patricia Kusic of Pittsburgh, PA; Carole Dooley and family of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Daniel (Lisa) Kusic and family of North Huntingdon, PA, Deborah O’Shea and family of Martinsburg, WV, sisters Laureen, Kimberly, Lindsey Kusic of Newport, RI, Cynthia Doolittle of Bristol, RI, Sondra Allphin of CA and Nancy Allphin of MA. Joyce is survived by several loving nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

A private memorial service will be held by her family.
