Three Rhode Island schools are being recognized for their top attendance rates during the week of November 11, 2024, as part of the #AttendanceMattersRI campaign. Governor Dan McKee and Commissioner Angélica Infante-Green today announced the top schools for elementary, middle, and high school.
East Greenwich High School led high schools with an attendance rate of 96.6%. Portsmouth Middle School had the highest attendance rate for middle schools at 96.2%, and Stadium Elementary School in Cranston had the highest attendance rate for elementary schools at 97.2%.
In addition to the top attendance rates, the Governor and Commissioner also recognized schools that had the highest average attendance gains compared to the previous week. Matunuck Elementary School in South Kingstown gained 4.7%, Blackstone Valley Prep Upper Elementary School in Blackstone Valley Prep Middle School** gained 3.1%, and RI Nurses Institute Middle College Charter School gained 5.6%.
The Governor and Commissioner congratulated all schools in Rhode Island for their commitment to prioritizing attendance and reiterated the importance of consistent learning for all students.
