Newport has a remarkable opportunity to continue positive change that Mayor Xay is bringing to our community through his dedication and expertise. He gets the local economy and hospitality sector. He listens intently to the issues on the minds of our diverse citizens. He proactively seeks financial support for Newport’s aging infrastructure. He understands the severe housing shortage the city faces. We should be so proud that he has been willing to roll up his sleeves to confront the many challenges that he graciously and competently addresses as Mayor. To any naysayer: I challenge you to sit down and have an honest conversation with him.
Let us embrace him as Mayor again. The risk of not doing so will only slow, or dare I say stall, progress toward that promising future that we aspire for our beloved community.
