Wolverine Packing Co. is recalling 167,000 pounds of potentially E. coli O157:H7-contaminated ground beef. The ground beef products were shipped to restaurant locations nationwide.

Fresh products are labeled “use by” Nov. 14, 2024, and frozen products are labeled with an Oct. 22, 2024 production date. The recalled items bear establishment number “EST. 2574B” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The problem was discovered when the USDA was notified by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture of a group of people who had reported they ate ground beef before getting sick.

Anyone who is concerned about having eaten contaminated beef should contact their health care provider and discard these products.
