Rhode Island voters planning to participate in the November 5, 2024, General Election have until October 6, 2024, to register to vote, according to Secretary of State Gregg M. Amore and the RI Department of State Elections Division.

Eligible individuals can register to vote online at vote.ri.gov or in person at their local board of canvassers’ office. A list of voter registration form drop-off locations open on Sunday, October 6, is available on the website.

Registered voters can now also apply for a mail ballot for the General Election either online through the RI Department of State’s online portal or by submitting a paper form. The deadline to request a mail ballot is Tuesday, October 15, 2024. A new law allows mail ballot applications received within three days of the deadline to be accepted if they are postmarked by the deadline. Mail ballots will be sent to voters starting the week of October 7.

Voters can find important information and deadlines online here.
