Rear Adm. Darryl Walker, president of the U.S. Naval War College (NWC), and Provost Dr. Stephen Mariano met with Dr. Richard Spinrad, Under Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Administrator, at the college’s Newport campus on Oct. 17.
According to a readout following the meeting, the leaders discussed NWC-NOAA collaborations in education, faculty research, and international oceans, fisheries, climate, space, and weather.
Spinrad also received briefings from NWC faculty on the Maritime Security and Governance Staff course, Civilian-Military Humanitarian Response program, National Security Affairs department and Joint Military Operations department.
