Lifespan, the Rhode Island-based healthcare system, announced today that it is rebranding as Brown University Health. The rebranding reflects the organization’s deepening affiliation with Brown University and aims to enhance its national profile.
According to Lifespan, the change will strengthen its ability to attract and retain top talent, improve patient care, and support medical education and research. The organization emphasized its commitment to expanding access to high-quality healthcare across the region.
The rebranding involved a significant effort, including updating nearly 200 information systems, redesigning the organization’s digital presence, and creating over 100 new logos. The transformation extends to every aspect of the organization, from signage and caller IDs to staff shuttle buses and workstation screens.
Brown University Health is comprised of three teaching hospitals affiliated with The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University: Rhode Island Hospital and its Hasbro Children’s Hospital, The Miriam Hospital, and Bradley Hospital. The system also includes Newport Hospital, Gateway Healthcare, Brown Health Medical Group, and Brown Health Medical Group Primary Care.
“This initiative has involved an extraordinary amount of work behind the scenes, with nearly 200 separate information systems applications updated and a comprehensive overhaul of our digital presence, including a newly branded website and intranet,” said Jessica Wharton, a spokesperson for Brown University Health.
The organization’s newly branded website is available at www.brownhealth.org.
