Capt. T. Richie Jenkins took command of the Navy Supply Corps School (NSCS) on Friday, Aug. 16, during a change of command ceremony that was both solemn and emotional.

Capt. Jenkins, who brings an impressive wealth of experience to his new role, was welcomed to the position by outgoing Commanding Officer Capt. Jason C. Warner. The two-year tenure of Warner’s command saw the graduation of more than 4,000 students from 178 class convenes.

In his remarks, Warner expressed gratitude for the opportunity to have led the NSCS team and acknowledged the hard work and dedication of this incredible group of professionals. He also paid tribute to the strong leadership and mentorship shown by Jenkins and his wife, Amiee.

Jenkins began his remarks by expressing enthusiasm for guiding NSCS toward continued excellence and success. He highlighted the school’s unique location and opportunities for collaboration with students from across the Navy. He also pledged to work tirelessly to support the growth and success of each student as they embark on this life of service to their country.

The ceremony was also attended by the chief of supply corps, RADM Ken Epps, who served as the keynote speaker. Epps highlighted the importance of strong leadership and mentorship, qualities that he said were exemplified by Warner and Jenkins. He also recognized CAPT Warner and his wife, Amiee, for their authentic and personable natures, qualities that will be deeply missed by the NSCS community.

With the assumption of command by Capt. Jenkins, the NSCS looks forward to a future of continued growth and success under his leadership. The schoolhouse community warmly welcomes CAPT Jenkins and his wife, Mrs. Taffy Jenkins, as they begin on this new journey.
