The Eastern Rhode Island Conservation District (ERICD) was awarded a year-long $10,000 grant through the John Clark Trust to aid in the general operation of ERICD.
According to ERICD, the funding will be used for various projects, including ongoing construction at the Portsmouth AgInnovation Farm.
“ERICD works to help conserve the natural resources of Newport and Bristol counties, providing environmental education, technical assistance, and outreach programs across Eastern RI. The money from this grant will help with our general operations, and we are so honored to receive this type of support from the community,” Ally Cuomo, Engagement Coordinator and Environmental Field Technician for Eastern RI Conservation District, wrote in an email to What’sUpNewp.
The Eastern Rhode Island Conservation District is a part of the National Association of Conservation Districts, a non-profit organization that represents the nation’s 3,000 conservation districts, their state associations and the 17,000 men and women who serve on their governing boards.
