Dennis Wine, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, who touched the lives of many, passed away unexpectedly on July 6, 2024, at the age of 60. Born on July 1, 1964, in Kankakee, IL, Dennis lived a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure.
Dennis was a proud alumnus of Illinois State University and built a successful career in the veterinary pharmaceutical industry. His passion for work was inspired by the people he met along the way; he loved them all. This passion was matched only by his love for his family and friends.
A man of many interests, Dennis enjoyed spending time with his wife Nicole on their porch, and engaging in spirited bike rides to see who could outlast the other. He found joy in boating with family, being with his children and grandchildren, savoring a cigar with his buddies, and chasing his dog Squirrel throughout the neighborhood (not really). He was passionate about all sports (“Go Blue”) and all music (none more than AC/DC).
Throughout their 22 years of a beautiful marriage, Dennis and Nicole shared a love for travel and adventure. From donning fancy hats at the Kentucky Derby to strolling the grounds at The Masters or jetting off to Caribbean islands, they knew how to make the most of life and ensured that everyone they touched experienced the same joy.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife Nicole Wine; his sons Jeremy and Aiden Wine; daughters Samantha Courtney and Maggie Kenneally; his son-in- law Luke Courtney, his daughter-in-law Taylor Wine; his mother Lynn Hartley, sisters Brandy Rittenberry, Misty Wine and his brother-in-law Kirk Rittenberry and his nieces and nephews; his adored grandchildren Elijah, Elsie, Edith Courtney and Maya Wine; his stepmother Merye Wine and he is preceded in his passing by his father Richard Wine and his dear stepfather Bob Hartley.
Known for his infectious smile and a laugh that made everyone feel like the most special person in the room, Dennis prioritized fun and celebration in all aspects of life. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Family and friends will be comforted at a private memorial service on July 11, 2024. Memorial contributions can be made to https://narrowriver.org/

When I started my veterinary practice Dennis quickly became my favorite rep to have visit. He was always so excited for me and the growth of my practice. He was a wealth of information and quick to laugh at my terrible jokes. Our small practice was devastated to hear this news. Dennis spoke so lovingly of his whole family and especially his wife. He would often regale us with tales of his dog with the unusual name. It was always clear that his family was his pride and joy. I hope that you all have peace in knowing he loved you all deeply and openly and that he was an honorable and kind man to so many people. Sending you prayers from Pembroke, MA
