The Newport Gulls have their only Wednesday off day of the regular season this week before a busy end of the week with the Keene SwampBats coming to town on Thursday and the Danbury Westerners paying a visit to Cardines Field on Friday

Thursday is bound to be a fun night at the ballpark when the Keene SwampBats make the trip down for a 4th of July encounter. It will be Oliver Hazard Perry Night with 250 free Gulls hats being handed out courtesy of Brick Alley Pub. Thursday marks the first of two meetings this season between the Gulls and SwampBats. Newport will make a trip up to New Hampshire later this month on July 18th.

After the 4th of July matchup with Keene, Newport turns its attention to Friday when the Danbury Westerners make their lone visit to Cardines Field this regular season. It will be Red Sox Foundation Night and 250 free water bottles will be given out courtesy of United Health Care. In the morning from 10:30-12:30 at Cardines Field, the Red Sox Foundation will be holding their Play Ball Event, a free clinic, and participants are invited back in the evening to attend Newport’s game with complimentary tickets. The Gulls and Westerners squared off last week in western Connecticut with Danbury coming out on top 10- 3. Newport is seeking revenge in the last regular season meeting between the two squads.

For both home games coming up on Thursday and Friday, gates open at 5:00 with first pitch scheduled for 6:35. If you
can’t make it to Cardines, you can watch both games exclusively on ESPN+.
