Gather family, friends, and neighbors for three hours of coastal fun – minus the cars. Elliot’s Ride for Everyone is for all ages, styles, mobilities, numbers of wheels, and number of legs – yes, leashed pets are welcome! 

Elliot’s Ride is presented by Bike Newport, and is sponsored by Newport Craft Brewing. The 3.5 miles of “Open Road” includes a long stretch of Ocean Avenue and all the birds, boulders, surf, lagoons, and majestic properties along the way, as well as the full length of Hazard Road, home to Gooseneck Cove Salt Marsh and its herons and ospreys.  

Saturday, June 8th

On-site parking at Rogers High School and at Brenton Point State Park

Schedule: 

  • 8:45 am Welcome – in front of Rogers HS, on Wickham Road at Hazard Road (see map)
  • 9:00 am – 12:00 pm – Open Road closed to cars
  • Route includes Ocean Avenue and Hazard Road

Elliot’s Ride for Everyone is named for Elliot Kaminitz, a much-loved community member and bicycle safety advocate who lost his life in 2012 when he was hit by a car near Easton’s Beach in Newport.
