The Newport Oyster & Chowder Festival, a beloved annual tradition at Bowen’s Wharf in the heart of downtown Newport that returns on May 18th and 19th, is thrilled to announce BankNewport as the event’s first-ever presenting sponsor. The bank will also support the annual Bowen’s Wharf Seafood Festival on October 19th & 20th, 2024.

“We are delighted to welcome BankNewport as the presenting sponsor of two iconic local events here at Bowen’s Wharf,” said Joe Nicholson, CEO of Bowen’s Wharf Company. These festivals have made a significant impact on the city’s economy over the years and celebrate everything that makes Newport special. BankNewport has always demonstrated a dedication to fostering community engagement by supporting local events and businesses, and their service goes well beyond banking. The partnership was a natural fit.”

Now in its 8th iteration, the Newport Oyster & Chowder Festival has celebrated the Rhode Island aquaculture industry and become a staple event in the city, unofficially kicking off the summer season and attracting seafood enthusiasts and visitors from across the region. Set against the picturesque backdrop of Bowen’s Wharf, the festival will feature an impressive lineup of oyster farmers, restaurant purveyors, and food trucks serving up their diverse varieties and recipes.
