Newport Comedy Series brings Steve Sweeney, another national headliner to Newport this Thursday, May 16 at Newport Blues Café in downtown Newport. A limited number of tickets are available.  

As “The King of Boston Comedy”, Steve Sweeney has established himself in the top tier in stand-up comedy. He has performed at renowned comedy clubs across the United States and has headlined numerous comedy specials, delivering his quick-fire delivery and relatable humor. Sweeney’s ability to effortlessly connect with his audience and turn everyday situations into comedic gold has earned him a huge following and critical acclaim throughout his decades-long career. 

He has also left an indelible mark on both television and film with appearances on  popular television shows such as “The Sopranos” and “Rescue Me.” In addition to his  television work, Sweeney has also made notable contributions to the world of film, with  roles in movies such as “Me, Myself & Irene” and “There’s Something About Mary.”  Joining Steve on stage Thursday will be Darren Rivera and Mike Koutrobis 

Darren Rivera, AKA “The Rice and Bean Joker,” has been entertaining audiences for more than a decade. Darren has won WCCC Local Comic Standing and been runner-up in The Funniest Comic in New England. Darren’s brand of humor is sarcastic, witty, and real to his life experiences.  

National headliner Mike Koutrobis will host this show, fresh off filming his Comedy Special recording. Mike is more than a host; he will ensure that the laughs keep rolling all night. Get your tickets now, as this will sell out in advance.
