The U.S. Naval War College (NWC) has graduated 24 officers from its Joint Force Maritime Component Commander (JFMCC) course, strengthening the U.S. Navy’s ability to execute complex maritime operations.

JFMCC is a one-week course that brings together 24 flag and general officers from the U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Space Force to discuss multinational maritime command and control concepts and methods. The course is taught yearly to ensure that students gain a deep understanding of the joint warfighting environment and the skills and knowledge required to perform successfully across a range of military operations in a rapidly changing global security environment.

The graduates of the course are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to execute joint force maritime operations that employ naval forces in a way that supports the overall strategic objectives of the U.S. Navy and the U.S. government as a whole. The skills and knowledge gained from the course will assist the graduates in their future roles as joint service component commanders, as well as officers and officials who will work closely with them.

JFMCC is one of the NWC’s College of Maritime Operational Warfare educational programs that are designed to prepare future maritime component commanders and officers for the challenges of joint warfighting in a modern and rapidly evolving global security environment.
