The Rhode Island Department of Transporation (RIDOT) today provided the following weekly update on the Pell Bridge Ramps Phase 2 Project;

“As a reminder, tonight at 5 p.m. we’ll have an extended weekend left lane closure on both directions of Route 138 between the Pell Bridge and JT Connell Highway to replace the center median. On Tuesday night from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m., we anticipate left lane closures at the rotary and right lane closures on JT Connell Highway, from the Route 138 Underpass to Van Zandt Avenue, to install the new traffic signal poles.

During the day next week, we plan to continue working on drainage swales off-road Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. along the Park and Ride and corner of JT Connell Highway and JT Connell Connector, and grading and placing sidewalks along JT Connell Highway, with a right lane closure from the Underpass to Van Zandt Avenue, Monday-Friday during the same time period. Additionally, we will continue to remove and dispose of the old existing traffic signal equipment, with shoulder closures at the intersection of Van Zandt Avenue/JT Connell Connector, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. We will also adjust the utility structures, prior to final paving, and install the fiber optic cable along JT Connell Highway, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m”.

  • Start Phase 1 Construction: 2020
