Mildred P. Geas, 88, of Newport, Rhode Island, passed away at home on April 7, 2024.

Born in San Diego, CA, she was the daughter of the late Gustav and Nora (Marren) Maigler.

Millie grew up on the point and was a member of the Junior Catholic Daughters, graduated from St Catherine’s in 1953. She worked at the Newport Oil Company until she married Nicholas Geas in 1958 and moved to Worcester MA. Millie came back to Newport for a few years before moving to Orange County, California. But once again she returned to her home and family. She spent lots of time with her sisters El and Phiney earning them the nickname the Golden Girls. Millie was the favorite aunt to her nieces and nephews. She was a loyal and true friend and most of all a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Mildred is survived by her children; Cheryl Geas, of Newport and Oregon, Andrea Geas, of Newport, Nicholas Geas, of Newport, Drew Geas, of Middletown, her grandchildren; Jessica Geas, Alex Geas, Patrick Murphy, Logan Geas, and her great-grandson; Adam Harnett. She additionally leaves many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Besides her parents, Mildred is preceded in death by her siblings, Gus Maigler, George Maigler, Jimmy Maigler, Elinore Soares, and Phiney Blanton, and her former husband; Nick Geas Sr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, Broadway and Mann Ave., Newport.

Burial will be private.
