Today, the Amica Newport Marathon announced the addition of a new charitable partner for the 2024 race, scheduled for October 13th — The Newport Tree Conservancy.

“It’s a vital part of our event’s mission to support local organizations, especially those focused on preserving and bettering our community,” says Matt Gray, President of Gray Matter Marketing, which produces the Amica Newport Marathon. “As a local business, we are appreciative of and enjoy the efforts that the Newport Tree Conservancy puts forth on our island.”

“The Newport Tree Conservancy is committed to planting trees in our community, inspiring the next generation to love nature, and preserving the heritage of the most iconic trees in Newport, Rhode Island,” says Natasha Harrison, Executive Director of the Newport Tree Conservancy. “The support of the Amica Newport Marathon will allow us to further our mission to preserve and protect trees and  green spaces for current and future generations.”

Since the event’s inception in 2015, the Amica Newport Marathon and Half Marathon has raised more than $600,000 for local nonprofits. In addition to the Newport Tree Conservancy, this year’s charitable partners are also the Newport County YMCA, The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, Boys Town New England, and the Aquidneck Land Trust.

In addition to title sponsor Amica, the Amica Newport Marathon and Half Marathon is supported and sponsored by Polar Seltzer, Newport Hospital, Ragged Island Brewing, RunNewport, the Fitzpatrick Team of ReMax Newport, NPT Healthworks, A1 Roofing and Construction, Hallman’s Septic and Portable Toilets, Bike Newport, Rhode Island Football Club, and The Pell Hotel.

The 2024 Amica Newport Marathon and Half Marathon will take place on October 13th, starting at 7:30 AM. More information about the event, as well as registration, is available at www.newportmarathon.com
