The Lippitt House Museum, a historic home in Providence, R.I., is set to open for the 2024 tour season, which will include led tours focusing on the lives of the 19th-century family and servants who lived there.

“I’ve lived in Rhode Island my whole life and never known this gem was here,” said Cathy Saunders, curator of education at Lippitt House Museum. “We want to change that! I invite all Rhode Islanders (and everyone else) to come experience this National Historic Landmark firsthand. There’s something here to interest everyone.”

Guided tours will be available every Friday, select Saturdays, and the first Thursday of each month, from May through October. Tickets are recommended to advance, and cost $10 per adult and $5 per student. Tickets are free for children under 12 and for those receiving food assistance benefits.

The Lippitt House Museum is a Rhode Island National Landmark and part of a National Historic Landmark District. The museum tells the story of the Lippitt family, which lived at the house on the East Side of Providence.
